About This Scholarship

The Little People of America Scholarship Program is a program that provides financial assistance to individuals with dwarfism who are pursuing higher education. Little People of America (LPA) is an organization that provides support and resources to individuals with dwarfism and their families. The scholarship program is one of the many ways in which LPA supports its members.

The program provides scholarships ranging from $250 to $1,000 to individuals with dwarfism who are enrolled or planning to enroll in a college, university, vocational school, or other post-secondary educational institution. The scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community involvement. The program has been in operation for over 30 years and has helped many individuals with dwarfism achieve their educational goals.

To be eligible for the Little People of America Scholarship Program, an applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • All the applicants must be a current member of Little People of America (LPA) or be a child of a current member of LPA and they have a diagnosis of dwarfism, as defined by LPA.
  • They must be a graduating high school senior or a current undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Plan to enroll or be currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, vocational school, or other post-secondary educational institution and they must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).
