About This Scholarship

The LULAC Lambda Scholarship is a scholarship program offered by the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and the LULAC Lambda Education Foundation. This scholarship is specifically designed to support Hispanic/Latino LGBTQ+ students who are pursuing higher education. LULAC Lambda itself provides the funding for the grant. The League of United Latin American Citizens, the biggest and most established volunteer-based organisation in the country serving the civil rights of Latinx people, is associated with 1,000 local councils across the country, including LULAC Lambda. The local Latinx LGBTQ group LULAC Lambda has chosen two LGBTQ Latino professionals who aspire to one day hold the highest positions in the federal government to receive scholarships that will support their pursuit of advanced degrees.The League of United Latin American Citizens’ 1,000 branches across the country, including LULAC Lambda, are giving scholarships to deserving LGBTQ Latinx students who want to further their education for the fourth consecutive year. The scholarships are designed to assist worthy students in pursuing their bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate without accruing excessive debt. The amount and number of scholarships awarded may vary from year to year, but typically, the LULAC Lambda Scholarship provides financial assistance of up to $2,000 per academic year to selected recipients.

Eligibility Criteria For LULAC Lambda Scholarship

The LULAC Lambda Scholarship is designed to support Hispanic/Latino LGBTQ+ students who are pursuing higher education. To be eligible for the LULAC Lambda scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a Hispanic/Latino LGBTQ+ student.
  • Be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college, university, or vocational school.
  • He/ she must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Demonstrate financial need.

In addition to meeting these eligibility criteria, applicants are required to submit transcripts, letters of recommendation, and an essay that discusses their academic goals and how they plan to contribute to the LGBTQ+ community. It’s important to note that the scholarship is only open to Hispanic/Latino LGBTQ+ students. Applicants must also be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited higher education institution and must demonstrate financial need. These eligibility criteria are strictly enforced, and only students who meet all of the requirements will be considered for the scholarship.
