About This Scholarship

With a long list of scholarships—many of which don’t ask about immigrant status—the MALDEF Scholarship Resource Guide is a free, educational resource for students, parents, and educators. In order to advance MALDEF’s purpose of advancing the civil rights of the Latino community in the United States, the organisation assists law students. In recent years, MALDEF has given five to fifteen merit-based law students from across the country scholarships worth between $2,000 and $10,000 apiece.

All law students who are now enrolled full-time at an accredited American law school are eligible to apply for MALDEF’s Law School Scholarship Programme. Applications are assessed based on their background, financial need, and demonstrated dedication to promote Latino human rights, as well as their academic and extracurricular accomplishments.
