About This Scholarship

The Microsoft Disability Scholarship is a program that is designed to support and encourage promising students with disabilities to pursue higher education and career opportunities in the field of technology. The scholarship is sponsored by Microsoft Corporation, which is a multinational technology company based in Redmond, Washington. To apply for the scholarship, applicants must submit a completed application form, official transcripts, and a personal statement of 500 words or less that describes their personal and educational achievements, their goals for the future, and how their disability has impacted their life and their pursuit of a career in technology. Promising high school graduates with disabilities who intend to enrol in an academic or vocational college and hope to pursue careers in the technology sector will be given this scholarship. Each winner who continues to meet the requirements is eligible to receive a $5,000 annual award for up to four (4) straight years, for a possible $20,000 scholarship. The scholarships are renewable. In 2023, eight (8) bursaries will be given out in total. Scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses. It is important to note that the eligibility criteria, application requirements, and the amount of the scholarship award may be subject to change, so interested applicants should always refer to the Microsoft website for the most up-to-date information regarding this.
