Eligibility Criteria For MPower Artist Grants

Here are some general factors that are often considered:

  • Artistic Talent: Most artist scholarships place a strong emphasis on artistic ability and talent. Applicants are typically required to demonstrate their skills and creative potential through a portfolio or samples of their work. The portfolio should showcase a range of their best artwork to demonstrate technical proficiency, creativity, and artistic vision.
  • Academic Performance: While artistic talent is a primary consideration, some scholarships may also take academic performance into account. This can include factors such as GPA, class rank, or academic achievements. However, not all artist scholarships prioritize academic performance.
  • Application Materials: Applicants are typically required to submit various application materials, which may include an application form, resume/CV, artist statement, letters of recommendation, and essays explaining their artistic journey, influences, and goals.
  • Financial Need: Some artist scholarships take into consideration the financial need of the applicant or their family. This can be assessed through financial aid forms, income statements, or other documentation.
  • Community Involvement: Scholarships may consider an applicant’s involvement in the artistic community, such as participation in art exhibitions, performances, competitions, or community outreach programs.
