About This Scholarship

If you’re considering a profession in music, it’s worth exploring the NAMM President’s Innovation Award. This scholarship is available to college students in a music or music business program preparing for a career in the music industry. The NAMM Foundation is committed to promoting music education and funds the scholarship. Scholarship recipients have succeeded in music-related fields, such as music performance, education, media, sound engineering, event technology, management, marketing, and others. Applicants must meet the criteria to be considered for the NAMM President’s Innovation Award. Upon completion of their study programs, NAMM President’s Innovation Award recipients must spend two years working in an approved music industry area. College students who are music business majors or working toward a major in music, or have declared a minor in the music business or a second major in another area of study related to the music industry can apply for this scholarship. Applicants must also be involved in campus activities and hold leadership positions within university organizations. 

Eligibility Criteria For NAMM President’s Innovation Award

  • College Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled in a college or university and pursuing a degree in music or a music-related field, such as music business or music education.
  • Academic Standing: Applicants must be in good academic standing and maintain a GPA of at least 3.0.
  • Career Goals: Applicants must have a clear and demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the music industry.
  • Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
  • Scholarship Benefits: The NAMM President’s Innovation Award provides financial assistance to students pursuing a career in the music industry. The scholarship covers tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses. Scholarship recipients also have the opportunity to attend the NAMM Show, a music industry event that brings together music professionals from around the world.
  • Previous Recipients: The NAMM President’s Innovation Award recipients have succeeded in various music-related fields. They have been music performers, educators, media professionals, sound engineers, event technologists, managers, marketers, and more.
