About This Scholarship

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) Program is a highly competitive program that provides scholarships to high school students who excel academically. The program is open to students who take the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) in their junior year of high school and meet certain eligibility requirements.

The NMSC Program offers several types of scholarships, including National Merit Scholarships, Corporate-Sponsored Merit Scholarships, and College-Sponsored Merit Scholarships. National Merit Scholarships are funded by the NMSC and are awarded to students who have the highest scores on the PSAT/NMSQT.

Overall, the NMSC Program is an excellent opportunity for high-achieving students to receive recognition for their academic achievements and receive financial support for their education. The program is highly competitive, and only a small percentage of students who take the PSAT/NMSQT will be named National Merit Scholars or receive other types of scholarships through the program.
