NCHE Scholarship Program

The eligibility criteria for the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) Scholarship Program, which provides financial assistance to undergraduate students from Uganda who are pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, are as follows:

• The applicant must be a citizen of Uganda.
• The applicant must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an undergraduate program at an accredited institution of higher education in Uganda.
• The applicant must be pursuing a degree in a STEM field, such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, or the physical sciences.
• The applicant must have completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework and be in good academic standing.
• The applicant must demonstrate financial need, as determined by their family’s income and other financial circumstances.

The applicant must submit a personal statement outlining their academic and career goals, their financial need, and how the scholarship will help them achieve their goals.

The scholarship amount varies each year, but typically covers tuition, fees, and a stipend for living expenses. The application deadline is typically in the summer or early fall, and scholarship recipients are notified in the fall.
