About This Scholarship

The Marin Community Foundation (MCF) is offering a new leader scholarship to assist local students in realizing their higher education goals. The New Leader Scholarship provides financial assistance and support to high school seniors or current college undergraduates residing in Marin County, California who demonstrate exceptional academic potential, leadership qualities, and commitment to community service. Eligible applicants must meet all program requirements and demonstrate the capacity for future success as a leader by exhibiting motivation, character, integrity and perseverance. Recipients receive up to $8,000 annually for tuition expenses at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university of their choice within the United States. Eligibility Criteria For New Leader Scholarship

 Students who fit the qualifications listed below are eligible for this scholarship:

  • Open to all high school seniors who live in Marin County and have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Financial need is not a factor for eligibility
  • Must demonstrate leadership skills, such as actively participating in clubs/organizations or community volunteer activities
  • Eligibility based on character, integrity, academic ability and demonstrated potential for future success
  • Awarded up to $8,000 per eligible student 
  • Funds can be applied towards tuition costs at any accredited college or university
