Eligibility Criteria For Newman Society Essay Scholarship Contest

The Newman Society Essay Scholarship Contest offers financial assistance to high school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to their Catholic faith. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • High School Senior Status: Applicants must be current high school seniors in the United States. Students who have already graduated from high school or are enrolled in college are not eligible.
  • Academic Excellence: Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Additionally, students must have taken or be enrolled in at least one honors or advanced placement course.
  • Catholic Faith Commitment: Applicants must be committed to their Catholic faith and actively involved in their parish or Catholic community. This can be demonstrated through participation in church activities, volunteer work, or leadership roles.
