About This Scholarship

The Evelyn Benson Leadership Endowment Scholarship is a program of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) that provides financial assistance to blind and visually impaired individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership potential and are pursuing a postsecondary education. Eligibility Criteria For NFP Evelyn Benson Leadership Endowment Scholarship

The NFP Evelyn Benson Leadership Endowment Scholarship is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing a degree in nonprofit leadership, public administration, fundraising or related fields. The eligibility criteria for this scholarship are as follows:

  • All the applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university in the USA.
  • All the applicants must be pursuing a degree in nonprofit leadership, public administration, fundraising or related fields.
  • All the applicants must demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential and community involvement and they must apply form, official transcripts, a personal essay, and two letters of recommendation.
  • Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the USA for this scholarship.

In addition to meeting these criteria, scholarship recipients are chosen based on their potential to contribute to the nonprofit sector, as well as their commitment to social justice and equity.
