About This Scholarship

The Novo Nordisk Donnelly Award is an annual scholarship awarded to undergraduate and graduate students with type 1 diabetes who demonstrate academic excellence, community involvement, and advocacy for diabetes awareness. The award is named after Charles H. Best and Sir Frederick Banting’s research assistant, John Donnelly, who had type 1 diabetes.

The Novo Nordisk Donnelly Award provides financial assistance of up to $5,000 to help cover the cost of tuition, books, and other education-related expenses. In addition to the financial award, recipients are also invited to attend a leadership conference and have the opportunity to network with other scholarship recipients and leaders in the diabetes community.

The Novo Nordisk Donnelly Award is a prestigious scholarship that recognizes the achievements of students with type 1 diabetes and supports them in pursuing their educational goals.
