About This Scholarship

The Ohio State University offers several merit-based scholarships, including the Maximus, Provost, and Trustees Scholarships. Here is a brief overview of each scholarship:

  • Maximus Scholarship: The Maximus Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship awarded to incoming first-year students who have achieved exceptional academic performance in high school.
  • Provost Scholarship: The Provost Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship awarded to incoming first-year students who have achieved outstanding academic performance in high school.
  • Trustees Scholarship: The Trustees Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship awarded to incoming first-year students who have achieved excellent academic performance in high school. 

All these scholarships are renewable for up to four years provided that recipients maintain satisfactory academic progress and meet any other renewal criteria established by the university. 

Eligibility Criteria For Ohio State University Maximus, Provost and Trustees Scholarships

Each scholarship has slightly different eligibility criteria, which are outlined below:

Maximus Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and community service.

  • To be eligible, students must have a minimum ACT score of 30 or SAT score of 1390, and a minimum high school GPA of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants must submit a resume, a personal statement, and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor.

Provost Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and potential for leadership and community service.

  • To be eligible, students must have a minimum ACT score of 28 or SAT score of 1310, and a minimum high school GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants must submit a resume, a personal statement, and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor.

Trustees Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and leadership.

  • To be eligible, students must have a minimum ACT score of 32 or SAT score of 1450, and a minimum high school GPA of 3.9 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants must submit a resume, a personal statement, and two letters of recommendation from teachers or counselors.
