Ohio State University Morrill Scholarship Program

The Ohio State University Morrill Scholarship Program is a merit-based scholarship program for incoming first-year students at Ohio State University. The program is designed to promote diversity and inclusion by supporting students from underrepresented populations who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement.

To be eligible for the Morrill Scholarship Program, applicants must:

• Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Be admitted to Ohio State University as a first-year student.
• Demonstrate leadership and involvement in extracurricular activities and community service.
• Come from a historically underrepresented population, including but not limited to: African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, Alaskan Native, Pacific Islander, multiracial, or first-generation college students.
• Have a minimum ACT score of 27 or SAT score of 1280, and a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Submit the FAFSA to demonstrate financial need (although applicants are not required to qualify for federal need-based aid to be considered for the scholarship).

Morrill Scholars receive a four-year renewable scholarship that covers the full cost of tuition and provides a $3,000 enrichment grant for study abroad, research, or other experiential learning opportunities. Scholars also participate in a variety of leadership and community service activities throughout their undergraduate careers.

The application deadline for the Morrill Scholarship Program is typically in the fall. To apply, students must submit the Ohio State University Application for Special Scholarships, a resume, and three essays.
