About This Scholarship

To support the next generation of Californians in succeeding and innovating in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), as well as other fields, PG&E and its employee groups provide a variety of scholarships. Nearly 150 of these scholarships, each worth $1,000 to $10,000, were offered by PG&E in 2022. The following employee groups, as well as lone workers, have raised money for and contributed to the PG&E Employee Resource Group (ERG) and Engineering Network Group (ENG) scholarships. Scholarships are given by each organisation to students who have demonstrated a commitment to certain communities or issues.

Eligibility Criteria For Pacific Gas & Electric Company Asian ERG Scholarship

Here are some general factors that are often considered:

  • Field of Study: Science and technology scholarships are typically intended for students pursuing studies in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. This can include disciplines such as biology, chemistry, physics, computer science, engineering, mathematics, and more.
  • Academic Performance: Many science and technology scholarships consider academic performance as an important criterion. Applicants may be required to have a minimum GPA or meet certain academic standards. Strong performance in STEM-related coursework can be advantageous.
  • Career Aspirations: Scholarships may prioritize applicants who demonstrate a genuine passion for science and technology and have clear career goals in these fields. This can be demonstrated through personal statements, essays, or letters of recommendation.
  • Research Experience: Scholarships often value candidates with prior research experience in science and technology. This can include involvement in research projects, scientific publications, presentations at conferences, or participation in science fairs.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Strong letters of recommendation from teachers, professors, or professionals in the STEM field can support your scholarship application. These letters should highlight your academic abilities, research potential, and passion for science and technology.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Scholarships may consider involvement in extracurricular activities related to science and technology, such as participation in STEM clubs, robotics teams, coding competitions, science olympiads, or community outreach programs.
