About This Scholarship

Architecture continues to be a popular choice for college students as they want to change how they see buildings. To better understand the field and its future, this scholarship aims at helping aspiring architects learn what it takes to get into higher education and take on the role of becoming an architect. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be enrolled in an accredited institution with a degree program related to architecture design. If you’re a female student pursuing a postsecondary architecture degree, you may be eligible for the Payette Sho-Ping Chin Memorial Academic Scholarship. This scholarship is open to women entering their third or fourth year of a NAAB-accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in architecture. The scholarship is sponsored by Payette, an architecture firm, and hosted by the Architects Foundation, which aims to attract, inspire, and support the next generation of architects. The scholarship is named in honor of Sho-Ping Chin, a former principal and healthcare practice leader at Payette. Each year, one deserving recipient is awarded $10,000 and matched with a mentor from Payette for a year to carry on Sho-Ping’s legacy.

Eligibility Criteria For Payette Sho-Ping Chin Memorial Academic Scholarship

  • Gender and Field of Study: The scholarship is open to female students. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in architecture at the postsecondary level.
  • Academic Level and Program Accreditation: Eligible applicants must enter their third or fourth year of a NAAB-accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in architecture.
  • Sponsor and Host Organization: Payette, an architecture firm, sponsors the scholarship. The Architects Foundation hosts the scholarship.
  • Honoree and Scholarship Benefits: The scholarship is named in honor of Sho-Ping Chin, a former principal and healthcare practice leader at Payette. The recipient of the scholarship will receive $10,000. The recipient will also be matched with a mentor from Payette for one year to continue Sho-Ping’s legacy.
