Eligibility Criteria For PFLAG of Jacksonville Scholarship

The PFLAG of Jacksonville Scholarship is awarded to high school seniors or college students who identify as LGBTQIA+ or are allies of the LGBTQIA+ community. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a high school senior or college student who is a legal resident of the Northeast Florida area.
  • Must identify as LGBTQIA+ or be an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to social justice and advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community.
  • Must submit an essay on the topic of “Why Advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ Community is Important.”

Applicants are required to submit an application form, official transcripts, a personal statement, and the essay on the importance of advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community. The personal statement should outline the applicant’s involvement in and commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community.
