About This Scholarship

PFLAG San Diego County Scholarship is a scholarship program offered by the San Diego chapter of Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). Eligibility Criteria For PFLAG San Diego County Scholarship

The eligibility criteria for the PFLAG San Diego County Scholarship program are as follows:

  • Residency: Applicants must be a resident of San Diego County.
  • LGBTQ+ identification or allyship: Applicants must identify as LGBTQ+ or be an ally of the LGBTQ+ community.
  • Education: Applicants must be currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in an accredited institution of higher education, including vocational or trade schools, community colleges, four-year colleges, and universities.
  • Academic achievement: Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Financial need: Applicants must demonstrate financial need, which is assessed based on the information provided in the application and supporting documentation.
  • Involvement and leadership: Applicants must have demonstrated involvement in the LGBTQ+ community through volunteer work, activism, or leadership roles.
  • Recommendations: Applicants must provide two letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to their involvement and leadership in the LGBTQ+ community and their academic and personal qualifications.
