About This Scholarship

Pi Gamma Mu is a national fraternity focused on benefiting our members and college campuses. If you are a graduate student interested in the annual Pi Gamma Mu Scholarships, read on! If you’re a graduate student in a social science-related field and a member of Pi Gamma Mu, consider applying for the Pi Gamma Mu Scholarships. These scholarships are available to Pi Gamma Mu members pursuing graduate degrees in social sciences, social work, or related interdisciplinary fields. Pi Gamma Mu, a non-profit organization and the oldest interdisciplinary social science honor society, funds the scholarship. The society has been promoting excellence in social sciences since 1924 and upholds the values of scholarship, leadership, and service. Each year, the society awards scholarships worth up to $2,000 to assist students in attending graduate school. To apply for a Pi Gamma Mu Scholarship: You must be enrolled in a graduate degree program and a member of Pi Gamma Mu. Complete the Scholarship Application in its entirety, including the essay question. Please note that members who have earned an undergraduate or graduate degree are not eligible to apply. All applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.25 (on a 4-point scale) by the time their application is due.

Eligibility Criteria For Pi Gamma Mu Scholarships

Pi Gamma Mu Scholarships are available to graduate students in social sciences, social work, or related interdisciplinary fields. Here are the eligibility requirements for the scholarship, divided into subheadings for clarity:

  • Pi Gamma Mu Membership: Applicants must be members of the Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences.
  • Academic Standing: Applicants must be in good academic standing with their graduate program.
  • Program of Study: Applicants must pursue a graduate degree in a social science, social work, or related interdisciplinary field.
  • Enrollment Status: Applicants must be enrolled in a graduate program during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.
  • Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens or permanent United States or Canada residents.
