About This Scholarship

The RTK Scholars Program is a scholarship program that is designed to support and develop the next generation of leaders in the public interest field. The program is offered by the Rappaport Center for Law and Public Policy at Boston College Law School. The RTK Scholars Program provides selected students with a stipend and a ten-week summer internship at a Massachusetts government agency or non-profit organization involved in public interest work. The program also offers additional professional development opportunities and mentorship to help the scholars develop their skills and networks in the public interest field.

The application deadline for the RTK Scholars Program is typically in the fall semester of the academic year preceding the summer internship. Eligibility Criteria For RTK Scholars Program

To be eligible for the RTK Scholars Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • All the applicants must be a current law student enrolled in one of the participating law schools in Massachusetts, which includes Boston College Law School, Harvard Law School, Northeastern University School of Law, Suffolk University Law School, and UMass School of Law and moreover they must have completed at least one year of law school by the time the summer internship begins to apply for this scholarship.
  • Have a strong commitment to public interest work and a demonstrated record of academic excellence.
  • All the applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.

In addition to meeting the above eligibility requirements, applicants must also submit a completed application form, a resume, a personal statement, a transcript, and two letters of recommendation. Finalists may also be invited to participate in an interview with the RTK Scholars Program selection committee.
