About This Scholarship

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) Scholarships are a group of programs established by SHPE to support Hispanic students who are pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) fields. There are several different SHPE Scholarship programs available, including:

SHPE Foundation Scholarships: This program provides financial assistance to Hispanic undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing degrees in STEM fields. 

SHPE Professional Scholarships: This program provides financial assistance to Hispanic students who are pursuing graduate degrees in STEM fields. 

SHPE Corporate Scholarships: This program provides financial assistance to Hispanic undergraduate and graduate students who are pursuing degrees in STEM fields and who have demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace. 

SHPE Regional Scholarships: This program provides financial assistance to Hispanic undergraduate and graduate students who are members of SHPE and who reside in one of the six SHPE regions across the United States. 

Eligibility Criteria For Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Scholarships

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) offers several scholarships to support Hispanic students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) fields. The eligibility criteria for these scholarships can vary depending on the specific scholarship program, but some general eligibility criteria that are often common among them include:

  • Being of Hispanic heritage or descent, as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau
  • Being a SHPE member in good standing, with a membership at least six months prior to the scholarship application deadline (for some scholarship programs)
  • Enrolled in or accepted to an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in a STEM field
  • Demonstrating a strong academic record, with a minimum GPA requirement that varies depending on the specific scholarship program
  • Demonstrating financial need (for some scholarship programs)
  • Showing a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion in the STEM fields through leadership, community service, or other activities
