About This Scholarship

The South Carolina Teaching Fellows is a scholarship program offered by the State of South Carolina to attract talented and highly motivated students into teaching careers. The program is designed to address the shortage of qualified teachers in the state’s public schools.

The program provides up to $24,000 in scholarship funding to selected students who commit to teaching in a South Carolina public school after graduation. In addition to financial support, Teaching Fellows receive professional development opportunities, mentoring, and support from experienced educators throughout their time in the program.

Teaching Fellows must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, complete a teacher education program at a participating college or university, and teach in a South Carolina public school for at least as many years as they received funding through the program.
