About This Scholarship

Scholarships from the Southwest Iowa Educational Foundation (SWIEF) are only available to students who live in southwest Iowa, thus in order to qualify, your high school must be situated in one of the following counties: Shelby, Cass, Fremont, Harrison, Mills, Montgomery, Page, and Pottawatomie. Additionally, students who attend Boyer Valley, Exira-EHK, IKM-Manning, and Southwest Valley high schools are also qualified.

Make sure to provide as much information as you can when filling out the online scholarship application. The effort you take to craft a well-thought-out response can actually pay off. You should upload your transcripts using the application programme if possible. If that is not a possibility, you can physically present or ship your transcripts to SWIEF on or before the specified deadline, together with any necessary extra materials. No of the postmark, transcripts and other materials sent after this date won’t be taken into consideration.

Eligibility Criteria For SWIEF Scholarships

here are some common factors that often come into play:

  • Academic Achievement: Many scholarships consider academic performance, such as grade point average (GPA), class rank, or standardized test scores. Some scholarships may have minimum GPA requirements or other academic benchmarks.
  • Financial Need: Demonstrating financial need is often a consideration for scholarships. This can involve providing information about family income, assets, or other financial circumstances. Scholarships specifically designated for students with financial need may require applicants to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or similar financial aid forms.
  • Field of Study or Major: Some scholarships target specific fields of study or majors. These scholarships may be offered by professional organizations, companies, or foundations that want to support students pursuing education in a particular area.
  • Community Involvement and Leadership: Many scholarships place value on community involvement, leadership experience, and extracurricular activities. Applicants may be asked to provide information about their volunteer work, leadership roles, or other contributions to their community or school.
  • Personal Essays or Statements: Scholarships often require applicants to submit personal essays or statements. These essays allow applicants to share their personal experiences, educational goals, and why they are deserving of the scholarship.
