Eligibility Criteria For Terrance Lavell Winters Memorial Scholarship

Here are some common eligibility factors that may be considered for financial need scholarships:

  • Demonstrated Financial Need: Financial need scholarships are typically designed to assist students who demonstrate significant financial need. This is often determined by evaluating the applicant’s family income, assets, and financial resources. Applicants may be required to submit financial documentation, such as tax returns, FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) forms, or a statement of financial need.
  • Enrollment in an Educational Institution: To be eligible for financial need scholarships, you generally need to be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time or part-time student in a recognized educational institution, such as a university, college, vocational school, or trade school.
  • Academic Performance: While financial need is the primary consideration, some scholarships may also consider academic achievements, such as GPA or class rank. However, there are also scholarships available for students with various academic backgrounds.
  • Field of Study: Certain financial need scholarships may be specific to particular fields of study or disciplines. They may prioritize applicants pursuing degrees or training in areas such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), healthcare, education, or other high-demand fields.
  • Residency or Citizenship: Some scholarships may have specific residency or citizenship requirements. They may be available to students from a particular city, state, or country. In some cases, there may be scholarships specifically for international students or certain immigrant populations.
  • Community Involvement: Scholarships may consider an applicant’s involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership roles, volunteer work, or community service. Active participation in community initiatives or organizations may be relevant for some financial need scholarships.
