Eligibility Criteria For The John F. & Edith L. Wilsterman Foundation Scholarship

Here are some common factors that may be considered:

  • Academic Achievement: Many high school scholarships place importance on academic performance, such as grade point average (GPA), class rank, or standardized test scores. Some scholarships may have minimum GPA requirements or other academic benchmarks.
  • Financial Need: Demonstrating financial need is often a consideration for scholarships. This can involve providing information about family income, assets, or other financial circumstances. Scholarships specifically designated for students with financial need may require applicants to submit financial aid forms like the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Leadership and Involvement: Scholarships often value extracurricular activities, leadership roles, community service involvement, or other forms of engagement. Applicants may be asked to provide information about their participation in clubs, organizations, sports teams, volunteering, or other notable achievements.
  • Personal Essays or Statements: Scholarships may require applicants to submit personal essays or statements. These essays provide an opportunity for students to share their experiences, goals, and aspirations, and to demonstrate their qualifications and why they are deserving of the scholarship.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Some scholarships ask for letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or community members who can attest to the student’s character, achievements, and potential.
  • Field of Study or Major: Certain scholarships may be targeted toward students pursuing a specific field of study or major. These scholarships may be offered by professional organizations or institutions that want to support students in particular academic disciplines.
