About This Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria For The Rhodes Scholarship

The Rhodes Scholarship is one of the most prestigious scholarship programs in the world, aimed at assisting outstanding students who show exceptional intellectual ability, leadership potential, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the world. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following written criteria:

  • Be a citizen of one of the following countries: Australia, Bermuda, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, India, Israel, Jamaica & the Commonwealth Caribbean, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Southern Africa (including South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia and eSwatini), Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine (SJLP), United Arab Emirates, United States, West Africa, and Zambia.
  • Have completed, or be in the final year of, an undergraduate degree from a college or university.
  • Have achieved academic excellence, usually with a minimum GPA of 3.7 or equivalent.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to public service and leadership potential.
  • Be able to provide evidence of significant extracurricular activities, such as community service or sports, as well as evidence of leadership.
  • Be willing to spend at least two years studying at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, starting in October of the year of election.
