About This Scholarship

In order to support our ongoing work in multidisciplinary collaboration and education, the UMSA Foundation established its scholarship programme. We are dedicated to aiding educational institutions in the same way that we are dedicated to helping businesses and individuals in the security and risk-related industries. We want to offer financial support through this scholarship programme in order to develop the future leaders of our country and maintain our industry.

The scholarship programme offers financial aid for undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education courses in any of the following areas: business continuity and disaster recovery; cybersecurity; governance, risk, and compliance; or physical security (applicants may submit more than one application). Residents of Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin are required to apply.

Eligibility Criteria For UMSA Foundation Scholarship

Here are some common factors that are often considered:

  • Field of Study: Scholarships for business continuity may be specific to students pursuing degrees or certifications in fields related to business continuity, such as risk management, disaster recovery, emergency management, or business continuity planning.
  • Academic Achievement: Many scholarships consider academic performance as part of the eligibility criteria. This can include minimum GPA requirements or recognition of academic excellence in relevant coursework.
  • Career Goals: Scholarships may prioritize students who have a clear commitment to a career in business continuity or related fields. Applicants may be required to articulate their passion for business continuity, their understanding of the field, and their future goals in the industry.
  • Financial Need: Some scholarships for business continuity may prioritize students with demonstrated financial need. This can be assessed through financial documentation, such as income statements or completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Leadership and Involvement: Scholarships often value applicants who have demonstrated leadership skills, involvement in extracurricular activities, or relevant work experience. This can include participation in student organizations, volunteering in disaster response or recovery efforts, or professional experience in business continuity or related fields.
