About This Scholarship

The University of California- Irvine Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship is a prestigious merit-based scholarship awarded to a small group of outstanding incoming freshman students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and service. The scholarship covers tuition and fees for four years of undergraduate study at UC Irvine, as well as providing a $2,500 stipend per year for educational expenses such as textbooks and supplies. To be eligible for the Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • They must be a high school senior or transfer student who has been admitted to the University of California- Irvine.
  • They must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in all college preparatory courses, and they must have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement in high school.
  • They must have demonstrated leadership and community involvement through extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or other endeavors.
  • They must be enrolled full-time in a degree program at the University of California- Irvine.
  • They must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
