About This Scholarship

The University of South Florida (USF) Director’s Award is a prestigious merit-based scholarship that is awarded to incoming freshmen who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership skills, and community involvement. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition and fees, as well as room and board for four years.

Eligibility Criteria For University of South Florida Directors Award

The eligibility criteria for the University of South Florida (USF) Directors Award may vary slightly from year to year, but typically include the following:

  • Applicants must be incoming freshman students enrolling at USF in the fall semester and be an incoming freshman enrollment at USF for the first time
  • Applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 4.0 on a 4.0 scale and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1310 (or ACT composite score of 28).
  • Applicants must demonstrate exceptional leadership, service, and extracurricular involvement during high school.
  • Applicants must have completed a rigorous academic curriculum during high school, including honors, Advanced Placement (AP), or International Baccalaureate (IB) courses.
  • In addition to the above criteria, the Directors Award may also take into account financial need, diversity, and other factors in the selection process.
  • To apply for the Director’s Award, students must submit a completed application for admission to USF by the priority deadline. Additionally, students must submit a separate scholarship application, which includes an essay, a resume of extracurricular activities and honors, and two letters of recommendation. The scholarship committee will review all applications and select finalists for interviews, after which the scholarship recipients will be selected.
