About This Scholarship

The University of Southern California (USC) Presidential Scholarship is a prestigious, merit-based scholarship awarded to incoming freshmen who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential, and community involvement. The award amount for the USC Presidential Scholarship covers full tuition, fees, room, and board for up to four years, renewable for up to four years, provided the student maintains a minimum 3.0 GPA and meets other requirements. In addition, Presidential Scholars receive a stipend of $5,000 per year to support academic and research pursuits, cultural enrichment, and other educational experiences.

The application process for the USC Presidential Scholarship is highly competitive and involves multiple rounds of review, including a review of the student’s application for admission, a separate scholarship application, and an interview process. The scholarship recipients are notified in the spring of their senior year in high school.

Eligibility Criteria For University of Southern California Presidential Scholarship

The Presidential Scholarship is the most prestigious merit-based scholarship program at the University of Southern California (USC) that provides full-tuition support to incoming freshman students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential, and commitment to community service. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an incoming freshman student planning to enroll full-time at USC.
  • Have a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.9 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Have a minimum SAT score of 1500 or ACT score of 34.
  • Demonstrate outstanding leadership potential through involvement in school or community activities, such as student government, sports, clubs, volunteer work, or other leadership roles.
  • Demonstrate exceptional commitment to community service through volunteer work, service projects, or other community-based initiatives.
  • Submit a completed application, which may include essays, letters of recommendation, and other materials as requested by USC.
  • Meet any additional eligibility criteria specific to the scholarship, which may include residency requirements, enrollment in specific majors or programs, or other qualifications.
