The University of Tennessee Explore Scholarship Program is a need-based scholarship program offered by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK) to incoming freshmen. It provides financial assistance to students from low-income families who would otherwise struggle to afford the cost of attending UTK. The Explore Scholarship Program provides a comprehensive financial aid package, which includes tuition and fees, room and board, textbooks, and other expenses. It is renewable for up to four years, provided that the recipient maintains the required academic standing and meets other criteria.
Students must have a family income of $40,000 or less, and have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA. In addition, applicants must submit a complete admissions application, including official high school transcripts and test scores, by December 15 of their senior year.
The Explore Scholarship Program is designed to provide access to higher education for students from low-income families and to help them succeed academically and professionally. It is highly competitive, and only a limited number of students are selected every year.
