About This Scholarship

The University of Washington (UW) Diversity Scholarship is a program that aims to support and encourage students from underrepresented minority groups to pursue higher education at the university. It is awarded to incoming freshmen who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership skills, and a commitment to promoting diversity and equity.

The scholarship provides a financial award of up to $7,500 per year, renewable for up to four years, to help cover the cost of tuition, fees, and other educational expenses. Recipients of the Diversity Scholarship are also provided with opportunities to engage with faculty and other high-achieving students at UW, participate in specialized academic and leadership programs, and receive mentorship and support throughout their academic career.

The application process for the Diversity Scholarship is competitive, and only a limited number of students are chosen to receive this award. Recipients of the scholarship are expected to maintain a high level of academic performance and to participate in leadership and service activities while enrolled at UW.
