About This Scholarship

The University of Washington (UW) Presidential Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship program that recognizes outstanding academic achievement, leadership skills, and community involvement.The scholarship provides a financial award of up to $10,000 per year, renewable for up to four years, to help cover the cost of tuition, fees, and other educational expenses. Recipients of the Presidential Scholarship are also provided with opportunities to engage with faculty and other high-achieving students at UW, participate in specialized academic and leadership programs, and receive mentorship and support throughout their academic career.

The application process for the Presidential Scholarship is highly competitive, and only a limited number of students are chosen to receive this award. Recipients of the scholarship are expected to maintain a high level of academic performance and to participate in leadership and service activities while enrolled at UW.

Eligibility Criteria For University of Washington Presidential Scholarship

The University of Washington (UW) Presidential Scholarship is a highly competitive merit-based scholarship awarded to incoming freshmen who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement, leadership potential, and commitment to community service. The eligibility criteria for the Presidential Scholarship include:

  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
  • Applicants must be incoming freshmen who will enroll at UW in the autumn quarter immediately following high school graduation.
  • Applicants must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.9 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1450 (or ACT composite score of 33).
  • Applicants must demonstrate significant leadership experience and potential, as well as a strong commitment to community service.

In addition to the above criteria, the Presidential Scholarship selection committee may also take into account factors such as financial need, diversity, and geographic location in the selection process.
