About This Scholarship

The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Provost Scholarship is an academic scholarship awarded to incoming freshmen students who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement. The scholarship covers full tuition and fees, room and board, and a book allowance for up to four years of undergraduate study at VCU.

The application deadline for the Provost Scholarship is December 1st for the following fall semester. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in an interview process, after which the scholarship recipients will be notified.

It is important to note that the Provost Scholarship is a highly competitive scholarship and only a limited number of awards are available each year. Therefore, meeting the eligibility requirements does not guarantee that a student will receive the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria For Virginia Commonwealth University Provost Scholarship

The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Provost Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that provides financial assistance to undergraduate students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and potential. To be eligible for the scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Be a first-time freshman admitted to VCU for the fall semester
  • Have a combined SAT score of 1380 or higher (or an ACT composite score of 31 or higher)
  • Demonstrate leadership, community involvement, and extracurricular activities
  • In addition to meeting these eligibility criteria, applicants for the scholarship must also submit a complete application for admission to VCU and submit their official high school transcripts and SAT or ACT scores.

The scholarship covers full tuition and fees for up to four years of undergraduate study at VCU, as well as an annual stipend for books and supplies. Recipients of the scholarship are also invited to participate in a variety of leadership and community service activities and events throughout their time at VCU.

It is important to note that the Provost Scholarship is a highly competitive scholarship, and meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee that a student will be selected as a recipient.
