Eligibility Criteria For Washington State University Regents Scholars Program

The Washington State University (WSU) Regents Scholars Program is a highly selective scholarship program that recognizes and supports incoming first-year students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and leadership potential. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an incoming first-year student at WSU in the fall semester immediately following high school graduation.
  • Score a minimum of 1360 on the SAT or 29 on the ACT.
  • Demonstrate exceptional leadership potential and community involvement through extracurricular activities, volunteer work, or employment.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

In addition to meeting these eligibility criteria, applicants must submit a separate application for the WSU Regents Scholars Program, which includes several essays, two letters of recommendation, and an interview. The scholarship is highly competitive, and selection is based on a combination of academic achievement, leadership potential, and other factors.
