About This Scholarship

AASuccess, a nonprofit organisation situated in Falls Church, Virginia, is the sponsor of the YouthCon Scholarship. Our mission is to empower young people by “perfecting the act of giving back” and developing their leadership abilities. With the help of AASuccess, our scholarship enables creative high school and middle school students to actively engage in charitable activity to make a difference in their communities.

These students must reside in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region. We provide awards to motivated, creative kids who have a heart for helping others and who are working to improve their writing, speaking, and leadership abilities.

Eligibility Criteria For YouthCon Scholarship

Here are some common eligibility factors that may be considered for scholarships targeting creative students:

  • Field of study or interest: Scholarships may be open to students pursuing studies or projects in specific creative fields, such as visual arts, performing arts, literature, film, design, or music.
  • Artistic or creative ability: Scholarships may require applicants to demonstrate exceptional talent or ability in their chosen creative field. This can be evidenced through a portfolio, audition, writing samples, performances, or other forms of creative work.
  • Academic achievement: Some scholarships consider the academic performance of creative students. This may involve meeting a minimum GPA requirement or demonstrating excellence in relevant coursework.
  • Project proposal or portfolio: Scholarships may require applicants to submit a project proposal or portfolio showcasing their creative work. The proposal or portfolio should demonstrate originality, creativity, and a strong artistic vision.
  • Demonstrated passion and dedication: Scholarships often value applicants who are deeply committed to their creative pursuits. This may be evidenced through involvement in extracurricular activities, competitions, exhibitions, performances, or other relevant experiences.
  • Recommendations: Scholarships often require one or more letters of recommendation from teachers, mentors, or professionals who can speak to the applicant’s artistic ability, dedication, and potential for future success.
  • Personal statement or essay: Many scholarship applications require a personal statement or essay. This allows applicants to articulate their artistic goals, creative inspirations, and how the scholarship would contribute to their development as a creative student.
