About This Scholarship

This Fellowship is a highly competitive fellowship that recognizes women pursuing a doctoral degree in aerospace-related sciences and engineering. The fellowship was established in honor of Amelia Earhart, a pioneering pilot and Zonta International member. The fellowship is awarded annually and is open to women of any nationality. Applications are due in November, and recipients are notified in April of the following year. Eligibility Criteria For Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship

The Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship is a scholarship program that provides financial assistance to women pursuing advanced studies in aerospace-related sciences and engineering. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a woman who is enrolled in a Ph.D./doctoral program in aerospace-related sciences or aerospace-related engineering at an accredited university or college at the time of application
  • Demonstrate a superior academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent
  • Demonstrate a high degree of potential in her chosen field, as evidenced by research, publications, and recommendations
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of women in aerospace-related sciences and engineering and the broader community
  • Be enrolled in a program beyond the master’s degree/masters-level at the time of the application deadline (in other words, only applicants who are enrolled in a Ph.D./doctoral program at the time of application are eligible)

It’s important to note that the Zonta International Amelia Earhart Fellowship is open to women from any country, and there is no age limit for applicants. Applicants must also provide evidence of proficiency in English if English is not their first language.
