Are you the child of an employee injured or killed in a work-related accident? If this is the case, you may be eligible for a scholarship from the Pinnacol Foundation. Children of workers who were disabled or killed in a work-related accident while employed by a Colorado-based firm can apply for the award. The accident must have occurred in Colorado. Also, applicants must either be presently enrolled in a tertiary institution or have plans to enroll in such an institution shortly. This award, provided by the Pinnacol Foundation, assists students in achieving the academic success they have set for themselves. They are committed to ensuring that the children of workers who have been injured or killed on the job are provided with the opportunity to pursue any education that they so choose. As a result, beneficiaries of the scholarship get an annual award of up to $4,700 to pay the costs of continuing their education. An applicant must also have obtained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 over his or her college career. Also, applicants should note that they have at most six years from admission to their institution to receive the scholarship.
