The Foot Locker Foundation is a charity that assists “phenomenal student-athletes in pursuing their aspirations of going and excelling at a two-year or four-year local college or four-year school.” The Foot Locker Foundation provides funding for the Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program. Twenty deserving students are awarded $20,000 in scholarship money from Foot Locker annually. The scholarship program has been around for many years and was created to help talented and hard-working student-athletes who may need more financial means to attend college. Previous recipients of the Foot Locker Scholar Athlete awards have gone on to compete in Division I, Division II, and Division III athletics. They have also excelled in athletics after college, including Major League Soccer and the NFL.

Eligibility Criteria For Foot Locker Scholar Athletes Program
- Athletic Achievement: Applicants must have participated in high school sports during their junior and senior years and maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0 throughout high school. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities both on and off the field.
- Academic Excellence: Candidates must be enrolled as high school seniors or current undergraduate students at an accredited college or university. Applicants must possess a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Community Involvement: Applicants must strongly commit to their community through volunteer work, extracurricular activities, or other forms of civic engagement. Candidates must demonstrate how they have positively impacted their community through their involvement.
- Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident Status: Candidates must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States.
