About This Scholarship

If you’re a student aged between 5 and 25 and have a passion for ending hunger, you may want to consider applying for the Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships. These scholarships are available to students who have engaged in ongoing volunteer work to combat hunger in the United States within the last 12 months. The Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that every child in the US has access to nutritious food, offers these scholarships. The scholarship program acknowledges the efforts young students make to fight hunger in their communities and recognizes them for their dedication. Every year, up to five recipients are chosen to receive a $7,500 scholarship and a $5,000 grant for their hunger-related charity. Additionally, they will be given an all-expenses-paid trip to the Foundation’s annual fundraising event in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Eligibility Criteria For Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships

  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be between the ages of 5 and 25 years old.
  • Volunteer Service Requirement: Applicants must have completed ongoing, unpaid volunteer service to help eliminate hunger in the United States within the last 12 months. The volunteer service can be individual or part of a group.
  • Academic Requirement: Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution in the United States. For applicants under 18, parental consent is required to participate in the scholarship program.
  • Charity Involvement Requirement: Applicants must be involved in a hunger-relief charity or initiative within their community.
  • Citizenship Requirement: Applicants must be citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States.

Award Restrictions: Previous recipients of the scholarship are not eligible to apply again. Family members of Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation employees or board members are not eligible to apply.
