The Vera R. Campbell Promise Scholarship is intended to aid undergraduates attending California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) as well as those who were born and reared in Los Angeles County and come from economically disadvantaged households. Many former Vera R. Campbell Promise Scholarship recipients were the first members of their families to enroll in college or university and had never left California, much less left the country. This fellowship offers substantial support to selected students who, ideally, have not yet participated in a field programme and who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend a field school. The field programmes offered by IFR are cross-disciplinary and conducted globally.
This scholarship offers up to $5,000 in direct financial assistance to help with the cost of attending an IFR field school, two individualized mentorship sessions with a member of the IFR Academic Board prior to the field programme so that you can get advice from a knowledgeable archaeologist about getting the most out of this field school, access to online asynchronous materials to help you prepare for and succeed in your field experience, the new location, and more.
