About This Scholarship

The Alliance for Women in Media (AWM) National Cable Television Association (NCTA) & AWMF Scholarship is a program that provides financial assistance to women who are pursuing a career in media or telecommunications. The scholarship is administered by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) and the National Cable Television Association (NCTA) and is awarded annually to qualified applicants.

One deserving female communications/media undergraduate or graduate student can use the AWMF/NCTA- The Internet and Television Association Scholarship to produce an original work (an essay, a digital short, a video, an animation, or another concept of their choosing) that will be showcased in NCTA and AWMF media distribution channels.

The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation awards nearly $20,000 in scholarships each year to students just beginning their professions. We take great pride in giving worthy young women the chance to finish their education and realise their maximum potential.

Eligibility Criteria For Alliance for Women in Media NCTA & AWMF Scholarship

The eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:

  • All the applicants must be female students who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the United States.
  • All the applicants must be pursuing a degree in media or telecommunications-related field, such as journalism, broadcasting, advertising, or public relations.
  • All the applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale to apply for this scholarship.
  • All the applicants must demonstrate financial need and they must submit a personal essay, a resume, academic transcripts, and two letters of recommendation to apply for this scholarship.
