Eligibility Criteria For FRA Americanism Essay Contest

The FRA Americanism Essay Contest is open to students in grades 7-12 who are sponsored by a Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) branch or Ladies Auxiliary. The eligibility criteria for the essay contest are as follows:

  • Students must be sponsored by a Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) branch or Ladies Auxiliary.
  • Students must be in grades 7 through 12, and enrolled in a public, private, or parochial school or home study program in the United States.
  • Essays must be written in English and must not exceed 350 words for grades 7 and 8, and 700 words for grades 9 through 12.
  • Essays must address the theme for the year’s contest. The theme is announced annually by the FRA and is typically related to Americanism, patriotism, and citizenship.
  • Essays must be submitted to the sponsoring FRA branch or Ladies Auxiliary no later than the deadline specified by the contest.
