Black and African American students attending an accredited college can receive a scholarship of up to $40,000. This grant is given to students that can attend college to pursue their educational goals. Suppose you’re a high school senior who identifies as Black or African American and is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and are interested in global entrepreneurship and community engagement. In that case, you might want to consider applying for the Ron Brown scholarship. The scholarship aims to support intellectually gifted African Americans committed to positively impacting their communities. It provides $40,000 in total over four years ($10,000 annually) to 45-50 recipients annually. To be eligible, you must plan to attend an accredited four-year university in the United States, and you’ll need to submit two 500-word essays, transcripts, and two letters of recommendation as part of your application.
