The Hawaii Community Foundation is the charity that offers to fund the Thz Fo Farm Scholarship Fund. The Hawaii Community Foundation is an organization that encourages people to engage in charitable giving and invests in people and solutions that will benefit all of the island communities. Consequently, the Thz Fo Farm Scholarship Fund bestows grants of up to $5,000 each academic year to a number of postsecondary students of Chinese ancestry who are majoring in gerontology. Students from any state can apply, but Hawaii students will be prioritized. The purpose of the Thz Fo Farm Scholarship Fund is to provide financial assistance to college students majoring in gerontology. The foundation’s goals are to help develop gerontological science and training, create educational resources for future gerontologists, and promote interest in this important field by young people. The scholarship can be used for any purpose related to a student’s education; however, it cannot be used for living expenses or tuition fees.
