Applications are being accepted for the Fayetteville Friends Meeting’s (FFM) annual Peace Scholarship. The $1,000 prize is meant to inspire and assist high school seniors in developing their peaceful methods of eradicating injustices like war, poverty, inequality, and climate change.The dedication and interest of applicants in nonviolent conflict resolution and/or community involvement will be evaluated. Examples include working on issues of social justice; helping the needy; intervening in and supporting victims of domestic violence; offering counselling and support for alternatives to military service; engaging in environmental activism; supporting immigrants and immigrant rights; and doing human rights work.
