Eligibility Criteria For 9th Island Cultural Club of Las Vegas Aloha Scholarship

The 9th Island Cultural Club of Las Vegas Aloha Scholarship is designed to support students of Hawaiian ancestry who are pursuing higher education. The eligibility criteria for this scholarship program are as follows:

  • Be a resident of the State of Nevada or have graduated from a Nevada high school.
  • Be of Hawaiian ancestry, as defined like being a descendant of the aboriginal peoples who, prior to 1778, occupied and exercised sovereignty in the area that now constitutes the State of Hawaii.
  • Be a high school senior or graduate, or a current college student.
  • Plan to enroll or be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or university for the upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and must demonstrate financial need.
  • Submit an official high school or college transcript, a resume, a personal statement, and two letters of recommendation.
