About This Scholarship

The Against The Grain Artistic Scholarship is a scholarship program offered by the Against The Grain Productions (ATG) organization. The scholarship is open to Asian American high school seniors and college students who are pursuing a career in the arts. The Against The Grain Artistic Scholarship is designed to recognize and support the artistic talents of Asian American students. It aims to encourage and promote diversity and representation in the arts and to support the ATG organization’s mission to empower Asian Americans in the media and arts industries.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria For Against The Grain Artistic Scholarship

The Against The Grain Artistic Scholarship is a scholarship program offered by the Against The Grain Productions, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Asian American cultural awareness through media and the arts. The eligibility criteria for this scholarship are as follows:

  • All the applicants must be of at least 25% Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity.
  • Applicants must be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the United States.
  • Applicants must be enrolled or accepted to an accredited college, university, or conservatory for the upcoming academic year.
  • Applicants must be pursuing a major in the visual or performing arts, including but not limited to film, television, theater, photography, dance, music, and fashion.
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and they must demonstrate financial need.
  • Applicants must submit a portfolio of their artistic work, a personal statement, and two letters of recommendation.
  • The scholarship award amount is up to $5,000 and can be used to pay for tuition, fees, books, and other educational expenses. The scholarship is a one-time award and is not renewable.
