About This Scholarship

  • Enrollment: Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in engineering or related field.
  • Field of study: Applicants must be pursuing a degree in a field related to railway engineering or maintenance-of-way.
  • Academic achievement: All the applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Membership: Applicants must be members of AREMA at the time of application. Students can join AREMA for free as a Student Member.
  • Essay: Applicants must submit an essay describing their interest in railway engineering or maintenance-of-way and their future career goals in the field.
  • Recommendations: Applicants must provide letters of recommendation from at least two individuals, including at least one faculty member from their academic institution.
