About This Scholarship

The Bird Dog Foundation has established a scholarship fund for college students to promote their enthusiasm for hunting, wildlife conservation, America’s outdoor legacy, and other relevant fields. For many years, an annual essay competition has been held to encourage interest and understanding in the above disciplines and provide monetary assistance to students pursuing higher education. The contest has three winners, namely first, second, and third place, who receive a one-time grant to attend an accredited college or university, subject to enrollment confirmation. The current value of the first-place award is $2,000, followed by $1,500 for second place and $1,000 for third place. The competition is open only to individuals who have never been committed to a correctional institution. Those with felony convictions are considered ineligible for the competition, as are those under judicial supervision or on probation. Suppose you are a K-12 student passionate about art and nature and reside within 75 miles of the National Bird Dog Museum in Grand Junction, Tennessee. In that case, we have an excellent opportunity for you. The Bird Dog Foundation Annual Youth Art Contest invites artwork submissions that portray wildlife and themes related to nature conservation, with scholarship awards of up to $2,000 annually.

  • The National Bird Dog Museum in Grand Junction, Tennessee, is the host of this competition, and it is devoted to upholding and preserving bird dogs, field trials, and hunting traditions. We urge you to apply if you fulfill the eligibility criteria and want to use your artistic talents.
  • Artwork must be inspired by nature in some manner, but does not necessarily have to be created on hunting. The contest is open to all individuals, regardless of race, color, creed, or gender. E-mail submissions are accepted, and artworks may be reproduced in several mediums of choice. Artwork must be original, not copyrighted, and submitted by email; originality will be confirmed to the judge’s satisfaction.
